Timeline Estimates

Expert opinions range enormously. Some AI researchers predict AGI within 10-20 years. Others argue it is 50+ years away or may require scientific breakthroughs we cannot yet envision. The lack of consensus reflects genuine uncertainty about what is required beyond current techniques.

AGI would transform every industry simultaneously. Scientific research could accelerate dramatically. Medical diagnosis and drug discovery could advance in years instead of decades.
